State breaks record for single-day COVID deaths Nevada broke a record for the number of COVID-19 related deaths Thursday with 62 deaths reported over the previous day. Steve Sisolak in a tweet. This is yet another somber milestone in our State’s efforts against this pandemic. We have lost more than 3,600 fellow Nevadans. 15 deaths, 168 new cases in Washoe County Washoe County health officials announced 15 coronavirus-related deaths and 168 newly diagnosed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Nevada Still Has More Than Three-Quarters Of Vaccines Unused

5:01 KUNR’s Anh Gray and Lucia Starbuck discuss how the COVID-19 rollout has been going so far in Nevada. Anh Gray: I remember that morning in mid-December when you covered the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine to Washoe County, can you bring me up to speed on what’s happening in Washoe and around the state with the vaccinations? Lucia Starbuck: I remember that day so well. I never thought I would be emotional seeing a FedEx truck arrive at the health district, but here we are. So, Nevada is following a tiered approach. This prioritizes health care workers, first responders, and staff and residents in long-term care facilities. That’s who’s been getting vaccinated first. We’re also seeing, this week, healthcare workers at local hospitals are already receiving their second dose of the two-shot vaccine.
