Free Covid services begin in private hospitals - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: With coronavirus claiming 37 more lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, the private hospitals in Peshawar and Swat have begun providing admission, ventilator, medical oxygen, diagnosis and medicines to the people infected with the virus free of charge under the government’s Sehat Sahulat Programme (SSP). The public sector hospitals are already offering those services to Covid-19 patients. SSP deputy director (administration) Dr Aamir Rafiq told Dawn that free services were being offered to 78 coronavirus patients in private hospitals of Peshawar and Swat districts, which were hardest hit by the virus in the province. He said of those hospitals, four were in Peshawar and two in Swat.

RMI becomes part of Sehat Card Plus Programme

RMI becomes part of Sehat Card Plus Programme National January 27, 2021 PESHAWAR: Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) and State Life Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday signed an agreement enrolling RMI in Sehat Card Plus Programme for provision of healthcare services to the patients in the province. The agreement was signed in a joint ceremony by chief executive RMI Shafique-Ur-Rehman and Zonal Head for State Life Tajamul Khattak. Sehat Sahulat Programme Director Dr Riaz Tanoli and officials from RMI and State Life Insurance Company also attended the event. Services at RMI under this programme are expected to start next week. This special initiative by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to support the population of the province to provide accessible healthcare.

RMI conducts Healthcare Quality and Hospital Management course Peshawar PESHAWAR: The Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) has conducted a course of Healthcare Quality and Hospital Management. The Quality and Patient Safety Department organised a ceremony. Various public and private sector representatives from Healthcare Commission, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lady Reading Hospital and other hospitals attended the event to express views on the course. Muhammad Umar, who is leading the course, said the role of standardizing quality in Healthcare and Hospital Management is RMI’s moto, for which it has taken progressive initiatives in this ceremony. He said the RMI would provide full support to all stakeholders of healthcare in KP region in any capacity building initiatives to help improve monitoring and evaluation of healthcare quality in line with international best practices.
