‘Chaos in Afghanistan imperils Pakistan’

ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister and Chairman Institute of Research and Reforms (IRR) Senator Abdul Rehman Malik, has said the security situation in Afghanistan is chaotic which directly impacts Pakistan.
“Pakistan has already suffered a lot both in terms of loss of precious lives and huge devastation of infrastructure and economy due to the War on Terror and situation in Afghanistan,” he said while responding to questions of a delegation of Youth Council Pakistan including students from various universities across the country, on Wednesday, and was led by Muhammad Shehzad Khan.

AJK EC asked to address reservations of political parties

ISLAMABAD: Senior PPP leader and former senator A Rehman Malik has demanded immediate action from the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to address reservations of political parties about transparency of elections.
He said that political parties and contesting candidates have expressed serious reservations over the transparency of elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to be held on Sunday. He urged the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to convene an emergency meeting to discuss this issue.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, he said according to some media reports, many political parties and contesting candidates have shown their reservations on the transparency of the AJK election.

Placing Pakistan on Grey list

ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister and chairman Institute of Research and Reforms (IRR) Rehman Malik urged Financial Action Task Force (FATF) President Dr Marcus Pleyer to investigate the confessional statement of Indian foreign minister by a special team of FATF to expose further truth.
“I also requested to review the decision of placing Pakistan on FATF’s Grey list which the Indian foreign minister has already termed to be taken under Indian political pressure and influence,” he said while addressing a press conference Tuesday. He said it was noted by the world that despite fulfilling 26 out of 27 FATF demands, the organisation did not take the name of Pakistan out of its Grey list.
