Fourteen companies based in Connecticut made the 2021 Fortune 500 list, with Bloomfield health insurer Cigna leading the pack and holding steady from last year at No. 13.
This year’s edition of the famous list which organizes U.S. corporations by total revenue featured 13 Connecticut repeats and one newcomer, elevator and escalator manufacturer Otis Worldwide, which spun off from the former United Technologies Corp. now Raytheon Technologies Corp. in 2020. Farmington-based Otis placed at No. 236, with revenue of $12.7 billion, according to Fortune’s analysis.
Cigna remained the highest-earning company in the state, at least in terms of total revenue, which amounted to $160.4 billion. The health insurer is a fixture in the upper echelon of Fortune’s list, routinely ranking alongside businesses such as Costco, Microsoft, Home Depot and JPMorgan Chase.

WASHINGTON (June 1, 2021) The U.S. Department of Defense announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.
Contracts For April 12, 2021
Lockheed Martin Corp., Owego, New York, is awarded a
$447,230,778 firm-fixed-price order (N0001921F0841) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N0001921G0017). This order provides for the production and delivery of 12 MH-60R aircraft for the government of the Republic of Korea. Work will be performed in Owego, New York (52%); Stratford, Connecticut (40%); and Troy, Alabama (8%), and is expected to be completed in December 2024. Foreign Military Sales funds in the amount of $447,230,778 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The
