Raytheon Technologies Corp. announced it will begin a $500 million philanthropic initiative that will focus on education, services for military veterans and community organizations.  The Massachusetts-based defense and aerospace conglomerate which employs thousands at its Connecticut locations will establish the Connect Up initiative as a 10-year program aimed at tackling pressing social issues, CEO Greg Hayes said. Through focused investments, volunteer commitment and strategic partnerships, we will create lasting, multi-generational impact in education opportunity, armed services support and local community relief, Hayes said. The initiative will combine philanthropic capital, public/private partnership and employee volunteers to provide access to STEM education, help military veterans transition into civilian lives and support national and local nonprofits like Feeding America and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
