Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 11: In a recent development, Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan on Thursday defended his party MLA Eldhose Kunnappilly, whose picture went viral on social media with claims that he donated money for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. It was a trap, said Unnithan, adding that Congress is a secular party . Had he (Eldhose Kunnappilly) known that the donation was for Ram Mandir construction, he probably would not have given, he further said.
In the viral picture, Kunnappilly was seen along with a few other men, holding a card with the image of a building.

Bhopal: In what could spark a fresh controversy, a senior Congress leader has alleged that some BJP leaders collect donations for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and use the money for consuming alcohol.
Kantilal Bhuria, Congress MLA from Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua, claimed that BJP leaders collect the amount in the name of Ram temple and buy alcohol from it.

BHOPAL: Amid the BJP-Congress war of words over the collection of donations for the construction of Ram Temple, Bhopal Police on Tuesday registered a case against a man for fraudulently collecting donations in name of funding construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
According to additional SP (ASP-Bhopal) Rajesh Bhadauriya, a case was registered at Ashoka Garden police station of MP capital under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) against a local resident Manish Rajput for fraudulently collecting donations in the name of construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
“The case was registered against Rajput on the complaint of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) office-bearer YS Jadaun. In the complaint, Jadaun has mentioned that the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has mandated the VHP only for collecting door-to-door donations for Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya.
