Political newcomer wants to replace Portman

A political newcomer from Xenia who says he’s “angry” about how things are running in Washington, D.C., is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat being left by Rob Portman in 2022.
Veteran Michael Leipold, who is now a MedFlight pilot, said the federal government is too divisive now and he wants to do something about it.
“I think the big thing is, with a lot of Americans there is a general consensus that things need to change, and I am a big proponent of that, I don’t think that the way that the US government is running right now is effective,” Leipold said. “I think it is too centralized on two points of view, either conservative, or you are a liberal, I think that that needs to be more based upon the demographics of the people, what the people want.”

Heather Pringle took command of Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base last year, she outlined her top goals. Chief among those: Orienting AFRL to support not just the Air Force, but the new Space Force. Being one AFRL supporting two services was in my top three. In fact it was No. 2. Pringle said Wednesday in an online roundtable. AFRL is based at Wright-Patterson, making the base not just Ohio s largest single-site employer with 30,000 military and civilian employees, but an increasingly crucial base for two military branches.

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a not-to-exceed USD138 million contract modification for Taiwan’s ‘Peace Phoenix Rising’ programme, which is aimed at upgrading the Republic of China Air Force’s (RoCAF’s) fleet of F-16A/B Fighting Falcon multirole fighter aircraft to the latest F-16V Block 70/72 configuration.
The US Department of Defense announced on 26 April that the modification is for “the development and fielding of capabilities for the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System [Auto GCAS] and AGM-88 High-speed Anti-radiation Missile [HARM], improvements in radar software maturity, an update to the data acquisition system, and advanced identification friend-or-foe” systems, adding that work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and Taiwan, and is expected to be completed by 30 September 2022.
