The man who was found unconscious by his brother on Wrightsville Beach Friday has been identified as Orlando R. Johnson, 34, of the Atlanta area.
At this time, his death is still an ongoing investigation and Wrightsville Beach Police Department Detective T. Greene declined to comment further on the matter.
Around 5:15 a.m. Friday, Wrightsville Beach police received a call that Johnson was unresponsive at the Wrightsville Beach Access 40. The caller identified himself as his brother.
Officers and Wrightsville Beach Fire Department arrived to the scene to provide assistance and emergency medical care to Johnson. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center by the New Hanover EMS where he was later pronounced dead.
