ROCHESTER, N.Y. A nationwide problem is hitting close to home for the Rochester Salvation Army.
The organization says it can no longer operate two of its vehicles after thieves stole the catalytic converters off of both trucks.
Leaders say two people hopped the fence at the West Avenue location and stole the parts from those vehicles. The trucks are used to deliver food to those in need and transport supplies to food pantries. I wish you had a greater perspective of what you re doing; it s a very selfish move, said Pastor Jon Soza. You just cost a lot of people, hundreds of people, if not thousands of people, to not be able to have food. So one selfish act has a huge trickle effect in the community.
