ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) The new guidance for large outdoor gatherings couldn t have come at a better time as the weather gets warmer and more people are out of the house.
News10NBC talked to Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob Duffy about the Governor s announcement which is great for some, but too late for others.
Large outdoor venues such as Frontier Field benefit greatly from this announcement, but the same can t be said for many local festivals.
Opening day for the Rochester Red Wings is still a few days away, and work is now underway to accommodate two sets of fans. The ones who are vaccinated, and those who are not. Both groups will be kept separate inside the stadium.

The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival will not go on this year after all.
Festival producers Marc Iacona and John Nugent announced today that the festival would have to be postponed until next year because of state health guidelines and capacity restrictions.
Organizers say they ran into several roadblocks, including capacity limits, border closures, artists feeling reluctant to travel, and limited availability of talent to book.
This year s festival was supposed to be moved to the RIT campus to allow for more room for audience spacing, and was scheduled for late July to allow more people to be vaccinated.

After an attempt to save this year’s edition of the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival by pushing it back a month and moving the location from downtown to the Rochester Institute of Technology campus in Henrietta, the event’s producers announced Monday that they were canceling the event.
Organizers said the festival would now be postponed by nearly a year to June 17-25, 2022 although it was not immediately clear where it would be staged.
“We will be back next year and are committed to making every effort to move forward in downtown Rochester and also explore expanding the festival with programming at Rochester Institute of Technology,” co-producer Marc Iacona said.
