Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A sentencing hearing has been scheduled in September for a Rochester man who is admitted to seriously injuring his infant son.
23-year-old Dylan Horsman today officially entered into a plea agreement in Olmsted County Court and admitted to a first-degree assault charge. Under the plea deal, prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence based on state guidelines, which call for a presumptive prison sentence of around seven years in situations involving defendants with clean criminal histories.
Horsman was charged in February based on evidence from an investigation that began last November when the infant was brought to a hospital because of seizures. The criminal complaint against Horsman says medical testing determined the baby and injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
