The Recorder launched #ThereWithYou to highlight the work being done by volunteers and to help people access any support they needed. We also highlighted those shops accused of hiking up prices as panic-buying meant many people could not buy essentials like soap, rice, pasta and toilet rolls.

In just one week 1,300 people signed up for a council-led volunteer service to provide support during lockdown. Redbridge Joins Together was set up to connect people who needed support during isolation with volunteers keen to help. Council leader Jas Athwal said: “The vast number of local people who’ve signed up to the group and the offers of help and support really is a testament to the goodwill and kindness of the people of Redbridge.” Meanwhile, with children at home, schools around the borough used their 3D printers to make much-needed PPE for hospital staff.
The rodeo world is ready to round up 2020 and put it out to pasture, but not before holding one more competition Thursday at the James Kjerstad Event Center in Rapid City.
After just a couple of weeks of planning, rodeo promoter Rorey Lemmel will present Buck 2020, featuring high-level competition in bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and bull riding to help ring in the new year.
Doors at the event center open at 5 p.m. Thursday, with the rodeo kicking off at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted at no cost.
Following the rodeo events, country rock band 32 Below will perform in concert to celebrate the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021.
Cllr John Howard, who grew up around the corner from Ron called him a giant in Aldborough Hatch who was immensely proud of the place he lived in. He was always fair and was never short of a friendly word or a stern correction if he thought we needed it. He always focused on how to make the area better; whether that was through charity, litter picks or standing up for what he thought was right.
Wes Streeting said if it weren t for Covid restrictions St Peter s Church would be packed to the rafters to pay tribute to Ron.
