It was trapped in a line in a North Mississippi River, but officers from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks responded and saved it from what likely would have been a slow death. The pelican was located at the Coldwater River right at the Tate County line, said officer Zane Stricklin. There was a concerned citizen (who called). What I got was the bird was tangled in some line right off the road.
Stricklin and fellow officer Marcus Christon responded. It turned out to be fishing line and it had a hook in its wing, Stricklin said. The fishing line he was entangled in was tangled in a vine. It would have definitely died had we not intervened.

BassFan Senior Editor The first Top-10 finish that Dustin Connell posted as a tour-level angler was his victory at Ross Barnett Reservoir during his 2017 rookie season on the Bassmaster Elite Series. His résumé since then shows that he s been more consistent than spectacular.
He produced five single-digit finishes in 13 regular-season outings over the first two years of the MLF Bass Pro Tour s existence, but was left wondering when that second win might arrive. It occurred last week when he dominated the final day of the REDCREST Championship at Lake Eufaula in his home state of Alabama.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - On Thursday, 3 On Your Side was given an exclusive tour of ground zero for Jackson’s winter water crisis – the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant.
Public Works Director Charles Williams agreed to the tour to help the public better understand how the recent winter storms caused interruptions in water service for homes and businesses across the city.
The tour came more than a week into the crisis, and as half of the 43,000 customers served by Curtis were still experiencing low or no water pressure.

TUPELO ⢠Chad Wesley was nine dates into a tour last year when COVID-19 brought the Jackson-area blues guitarist and his band to a halt.
Before the tour was stopped, Wesley had performed at Blue Canoe in Tupelo. It may have been one of the highlights of his brief time on the road.
âIt was my first time to play there, and we thoroughly enjoyed it,â Wesley said in a telephone interview. âWe were able to put on a pretty good show. We had tremendous response.â
Even though the tour was stopped, Wesley resumed playing live shows in the summer with his band as well as solo gigs. Wesley and his band will return to Blue Canoe on Saturday, Jan. 23 for a long-awaited follow-up to last yearâs show.
