Galway Bay FM Newsroom – The Saolta group of hospitals have released a statement this afternoon regarding disruptions expected as a result of the Ransomware attack on the HSE yesterday morning.

The ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems continues to have a considerable impact on hospital services.
From Monday the following service disruptions are expected across the following hospitals in the Saolta Group:
· Letterkenny University Hospital
Patients should attend their chemotherapy appointments unless contacted and advised otherwise.
CANCELLATIONS
· All diagnostics including x-ray, CT scans, MRI appointments and cardiac investigations are cancelled.
· Endoscopy services are cancelled.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) has shut down all its IT systems following a cyberattack leading to a disruption in services for patients , including x-rays and radiology appointments.
Efforts to restore the systems are ongoing, but it will likely be several days before services return to normal, chief operations officer Anne O’Connor said on Saturday.

Overall compliance increased to 94%
The Department of Psychiatry at Roscommon University Hospital has seen its compliance rating increase to 94 per cent following a recent inspection by a national mental health watchdog.
According to the annual report of the facility compiled by the Mental Health Commission, while the majority of the centre s operations were found to be compliant, issues were found in two areas.
The 2020 annual report for the service based at Roscommon University Hospital saw compliance ratings jump 6% compared to the previous year s figure to 94%.

However, some key issues were identified in two areas during the course of the inspection.

th 2021 Peacefully, in the devoted care of his niece Mags and the staff at Roscommon University Hospital.
Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Mary Anne, his brother Denis and his sister Margaret Hanley. He will be very sadly missed by his sister Masie Kelly, brother-in-law, Sean, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
