What are Nagelsmann’s credentials?
Though only 33, Nagelsmann has been a coach in the Bundesliga for five years, having initially taken charge of Hoffenheim. Aged just 28, he was the youngest manager in the Bundesliga’s history and he steered the club from a position in the relegation zone to an eventual Champions League place.
Following on from his success at Hoffenheim, where he ultimately spent almost three full seasons, he moved to RB Leipzig. He led the club into the Champions League and from there guided them to the 2019-20 semi-final, in which they were defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.
This term, meanwhile, he has virtually guaranteed a second-place finish for the side, while they have also mounted a title challenge against Bayern Munich.
Liverpool fans must be willing the 2021/22 season towards them.
On the back of yet more dropped points at Anfield, the Reds are wading through one of the worst title defences in Premier League history and have been eliminated from all of their cup competitions.
As a result, there s good reason to think that Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards need to ring the changes on Merseyside this summer if they want to regain their crown from Manchester City.
Liverpool looking to next season
Ok, sure, injuries have blighted Liverpool s progress this season, so returning players might feel like new signings to boot, but I think most Kopites would agree that some tweaks are required.

Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly closing in on their first signing for the 2021/2022 season.
RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate is said to have attracted a lot interest around Europe much like his defensive partner Dayot Upacameno, who is set to join Bayern Munich.
The Sun claim that German publications claim that the Reds are final stages of finalising a deal for the 21-year-old French defender.
It is being reported that Jurgen Klopp is keen to add another defender to squad after the long-term injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche revealed a couple months ago that joining Liverpool was not on the cards.
It’s not a goal we should be conceding, but we still played very well, Nagelsmann told We pushed Bayern deep into their own half at various stages, but not for the first time this season we didn’t score. We have to learn from that. It’d help if we had a proper goal-getter, but we don’t. We were the better side, but have to make more of our chances. Now we have to let it sink in and get on with it. If the season goes as expected, Bayern will be champions. We want to finish second.
Bundesliga: Leon Goretzka sends Bayern Munich clear at the top
Bayern Munich opened a near-insurmountable seven-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with victory in Leipzig, courtesy of a solitary Leon Goretzka goal. Bayern were without Robert Lewandowski, but it didn’t matter.
Goretzka fills the void left by the injured Robert Lewandowksi.

The absence of Robert Lewandowski should have made Bayern Munich less clinical. The demands of so many competitions should have taken a heavy toll on a slimline squad. This should have been Julian Nagelsmann’s best chance to finally record a meaningful win over Bayern.
