RCB plants over 15,000 saplings Islamabad December 15, 2020 Rawalpindi:Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has planted over 15,000 saplings of different species including Chrysanthemum flowers. According to spokesman, the RCB, Horticulture Department had planted over 15,000 saplings of different species at various green belts and parks during this season. He said, the board encouraged the people to undertake more plantation to beautify the environment of the cantt areas and provide a pollution free environment to the residents. He informed that RCB was making efforts for the plantations in all available spaces and had developed numerous greenbelts and grounds. He said, the credit of all plantation went to Additional Cantonment Executive Officer Maria Jabeen, Horticulturists Mehar Gul and her team which worked day and night to make the plantation campaign a success.

According to locals, most of the streets of Tench Bhatta, Peoples Colony, Dhoke Syedan, Bakra Mandi, Chungi No 22, Gawalmandi and other areas have been converted into commercial centers as the traders have changed houses into shops and godowns. The residents also complained that influential persons with the connivance of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) officials are constructing illegal plazas and shops in such localities further deteriorating the agonizing situation.

RCB serves notices on encroachers Islamabad December 11, 2020 Rawalpindi: The Enforcement Cell of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) launching its anti-encroachment drive conducted operation in Peshawar Road markets and bazars on Thursday. The plan to initiate operation against encroachers and cartpushers was taken on the directions of Station Commander and president of the Cantonment Boards, Rawalpindi and Chakala, Brig Ijaz Qamar Kiani who the other day paid surprise visits to Peshawar Road and other wards, expressing concern over the presence of hub of encroachment and pushcarts in bazars and markets. The Enforcement Cell headed by Mohammad Murtsem evolved a strategy to launch grand operation against encroachments and removal of pushcarts from markets and bazars falling in RCB limits.
