In Rawalpindi, four patients breathed their last while 29 tested positive.
Naseem Akhtar, 69, a resident of Gulshanabad, Adiala, was shifted to Kulsoom International Hospital on Jan 8 where he died. Imtiaz Bibi, 57, a resident of Lala Rukh Colony in Taxila, had been under treatment at the Fauji Foundation Hospital since Dec 21 but could not survive and died on Friday night.
Abdul Haq, 70, from Wah Cantonment and Mohammad Hanif, 75, from Dhoke Mazharabad in Chaklala succumbed to the virus at Pims where they had been brought on Jan 8. Meanwhile, the district recorded 458 active patients with 86 under treatment in hospitals and 372 isolated in their homes. Moreover, 466 people are waiting for their test results.

RAWALPINDI: As many as 14 people recovered but another 26 contracted Covid-19 as the district reported 462 active patients on Friday.
One person passed away at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).
Maimoona Khan, 65, a resident of Naseerabad, Koh-i-Noor Mills, was taken to Pims on Jan 7 where she breathed her last on Friday.
Out of the active patients, 86 are in hospitals and 376 are isolated at home. As many as 466 suspected patients are waiting for their Covid-19 serology results.
Out of the new patients, two are from Rawalpindi Cantonment while seven are from the city areas whereas four are from Islamabad and Chakwal.

ISLAMABAD: While Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho had stated that the federal government would supply 250,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses to the province by mid-January, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan seems to be reluctant to confirm the date.
“We are trying to get 1.1 million doses of the vaccine at the earliest but I cannot commit when the vaccine will be received. If I give a date of Jan 16, I might prove myself wrong on Jan 17. I have not heard Dr Pechuho’s statement therefore it would not be appropriate to comment on it. However, time to time we contact each other and I can surely say that she is a very competent and responsible woman,” Dr Sultan said while talking to
