RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested District Revenue Assistant (DRA) from Deputy Commissioner (DC) office Thursday in a corruption case, filed in 2001.
DRA Khalid Hasan is a senior officer, working in DC office. The administrative staff of local administration has stopped working and gone on pen down strike and gathered outside DC office to record their protest after this incident. The ACE had neither informed commissioner nor deputy commissioner and arrested an on duty officer from DC office. Deputy Commissioner Capt ® Anwar-ul-Haq and Additional District Collector Revenue (ADCR) Capt ® Muhammad Shoaib assured the protesters to take up this issue and told them to investigate this matter that why ACE arrested an on duty officer from DC office.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to lay the foundation stone for the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project (RRRP) by the end of this month or in January.
This was disclosed by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Murtaza on Thursday, adding that all arrangements for the project were being finalised.
He stated the long-awaited Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project will not only improve economic connectivity and road transport efficiency between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi but also usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the region.

Islamabad : Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mahmood has said that the Ring Road project will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in December or January, after which the heavy traffic load in Rawalpindi and Islamabad would be lessen and new commercial and industrial zones will create new opportunities for construction and development in the region, says a press release.
He was addressing a kitchen gardening function at CBR Cooperative Housing Society Phase II in association with RDA, and representative organisation of Turkish government TIKA.
RDA Chairman Tariq Mahmood said that Ring Road project will help in mitigating climate change in the region. This ring road is passing nearby CBRECHS Phase 2.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) was directed on Monday to prepare a feasibility report for the proposed Special Economic Zones (SEZs) along the Ring Road project.
This was directed by the Rawalpindi Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood on Monday, who stated that the Ring Road was just another thoroughfare, but a multifaceted project, which will help resolve the traffic and economic problems of the city by boosting industry and creating jobs.
