Man arrested on suspicion of murder after 53-year-old attacked outside takeaway Detectives have arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of murder after a man was attacked outside a takeaway and was later found collapsed in the street. The man, from St Annes, was arrested after police stopped a car on Queensway in Blackpool at about 10.30am on Friday. He remains in custody. Police were called by the ambulance service around 10pm on Saturday after receiving reports that a man had been found unconscious with head injuries outside Atlas takeaway on St David’s Road South. The man, John McQueen, 53, from St Annes, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, but later left and was found collapsed by a member of the public around 3am on Sunday close to a petrol station on Talbot Road in Blackpool.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but sadly died on Tuesday.
