Funded by the ISGlobal Severo Ochoa Strategic Programme, the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) Centre on Climate Change & Planetary Health and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), is hosting the series of 5 weekly webinars: “Expanding the scope of research in planetary health in Europe”.
The programme is aimed at strengthening the field of planetary health, particularly within Europe, by bringing together stakeholders from academia, government, and civil society. The initiative builds on previous activities including the EU meeting “The Europe that Protects: Safeguarding our Planet, Safeguarding our Health” held in Dec 2020 in Helsinki, as well as the “Horizon 2020 HERA Research agenda for the Environment, Climate & Health 2020-20

DAKAR, Senegal (AP) A crisis over the supply of medical oxygen for coronavirus patients has struck nations in Africa and Latin America, where warnings went unheeded at the start of the pandemic and doctors say the shortage has led to unnecessary deaths.

Dr Robertson said WA hotel quarantine workers would wear both masks and eyewear to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He said cleaners already wore this personal protective equipment.
Dr Robertson said security companies were also made aware that if someone calls in sick that the standard protocol should be that they encourage them to get tested , regardless of their symptoms.
Hotel quarantine workers are now also undergoing saliva tests on top of nasal swabs. This has also been extended to airport staff.
Airflow studies are also underway.
Statins have no overall effect on the frequency or severity of muscle symptoms compared with placebo in people who had previously reported severe muscle symptoms when taking the drugs, according to a new study in The BMJ.
Most people completing the trial, led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), planned to restart treatment with statins.
