Former British Labor leader nominates Cuban doctors for Nobel Prize
London, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) Former British Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn formally nominated the Cuban medical brigade Henry Reeve for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, the Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba in the United Kingdom reported.
Corbyn, who led the Labor Party between 2015 and 2020 and is also a Member of Parliament for the London Borough of Islington, became the twenty-second legislator of that organization requesting the Norwegian Nobel Committee to recognize the work of the Cuban doctors.
In his nomination letter, the politician recalled that since the founding of the medical brigades in 2005, as a result of Hurricane Katrina in the United States, the contingent of health workers has demonstrated its willingness to save lives anywhere in the world in case of natural disasters or epidemics.
