Blue Badge offenders in Bexley Seven drivers have been caught and prosecuted for taking advantage of Blue Badges they were not entitled too in Bexley. Described by Bexley Council as unacceptable abuse of the Blue Badge scheme, a total of £3,160 in fines have been ordered. The range of offences included displaying stolen badges, one case of the badge holding being dead, and of course using the badge when the holder was not present. While the offences all took place in the London Borough of Bexley, four of the badges associated with the offences were issued by the Council, while the rest were issued by other local authorities. Five of the cases involved Bexley residents.

Dartford MP calls London boundary charges catastrophic

A Greater London Boundary Charge is being mulled over by Sadiq Khan, TfL and Government. The MP for Dartford has called proposals to charge people driving into any part of Greater London catastrophic and asked the Department for Transport for clarity. During questions in the House of Commons, MP Gareth Johnson asked the Transport Minister Chris Heaton-Harris MP about the proposed charge known as the ‘Greater London Boundary Charge.’ This comes after it was revealed that a feasibility study is due to start, with a view to introducing the measure in two years time. The Greater London Boundary Fee would see those driving more polluting vehicles entering London charged £3.50, and could rise to £5.50.
