London Square Partners has announced it will act as main contractor on a £300m project to build 457 apartments in east London
The developer will use its own contracting arm for the Vulcan Wharf scheme it is taking forward with housing association Peabody close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
As well as the homes, 35 per cent of which will be affordable, the development will include more than 9,000 square metres of commercial space at ground and first-floor levels.
A 4,000 square metre podium will provide outdoor space for residents while cycle and walking routes will also be created in the riverside location.
The developer behind the 90-metre-tall MSG Sphere in east London is drawing up a detailed strategy to show how it will stop train drivers being affected by its illuminated exterior, it has emerged.
Transport for London has also called for the proposed events venue to be able to have restrictions imposed on its capacity after it opens if the impact on Stratford rail station is too great – particularly when West Ham United play games at the nearby London Stadium.
US firm Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) submitted the application to build the spherical building, covered in LED panels, on the site of a former coach park near the Olympic Stadium in Stratford in March 2019, but several groups have since objected to the plan.
