Homeless man jailed for knife and drug offences in Bournemouth

The Square in Bournemoiuth town centre.. A MAN who had a knife, cocaine, heroin and herbal cannabis in Bournemouth Square has been jailed. Mark Callum McElwee, 48, was put behind bars at Poole Magistrates Court after he admitted a series of offences. McElwee, of no fixed abode, had a knife with a 11.5cm blade in the town centre on April 27. The court heard that he also had the class A and class B drugs in his possession. At a hearing on April 28, magistrates committed him to prison for 16 weeks for having the knife and the drugs, which were to be forfeited and destroyed.

Commonwealth boxing champion, 35, assaulted female ticket inspector

A former Commonwealth boxing champion assaulted a female ticket inspector when he was caught travelling on the wrong train, a court has heard. Wadi Camacho, 35, had been travelling from Birmingham to London when he was caught sitting in a first class carriage on the wrong train in November 2019. The boxer, from Walthamstow, north east London, who had a standard class ticket for a later train, was told by a ticket inspector to leave at the next stop in Milton Keynes but Camacho refused and staff at Euston station were soon alerted.   However when confronted by ticket inspector Olya Muzyka at Euston, Camacho, who held the Commonwealth cruiserweight title from 2018 to 2019, pushed the employee out of the way in an attempt to flee the scene.

The IEC is expected to release the statistics of its overall voter turnout, when results from the 14 by-elections from seven provinces in the country are released in the early hours of this morning. On Wednesday, Mawethu Mosery, the commission’s chief electoral officer, said that they expected that their overall voter turnout would have improved by the close of voting stations, at 9pm on Wednesday.
