A family from Midland has donated $810,000 to fund student scholarships and faculty development at Lubbock Christian University.
Bill, Mildred and Lewis Wayne Crozier designated the contribution to 3 major colleges and departments. The bulk of it, $700,000, was used to set up a professorship in the LCU School of Business accounting department. Alongside this, the Alfred and Patricia Smith College of Biblical Studies received $100,000 to endow student scholarships and LCU School of Education received $10,000 to do the same.
This new professorship will enable Lubbock Christian s School of Business accounting program to supplement faculty salaries, provide professional development opportunities for faculty members and student scholarships.
Lobos to Host First Two Series in Lubbock
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will host its first two home conference series’ against both Nevada and Utah State at Lubbock Christian University, the UNM Athletic Department announced Monday. The Lobos will face Nevada on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 followed by Utah State on Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 at Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Due to current state regulations regarding COVID-19, the Lobos are not able to start their home season in The Pit and will begin competition in Lubbock, Texas instead. Fans will not be allowed into the venue.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Crozier family from Midland, TX has given $810,000 to fund student scholarships and faculty development at Lubbock Christian University. The estates of Bill and Mildred Crozier and Lewis Wayne Crozier provided the generous funding.
The Crozier Estates designated the charitable contribution to three major colleges and departments. $700,000 was used to set up a professorship in the LCU School of Business accounting department. The Alfred and Patricia Smith College of Biblical Studies received $100,000 to endow student scholarships, and LCU School of Education received $10,000 to endow student scholarships.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest Board of Directors announces Emmanuel Ramirez as the president and CEO.
“Emmanuel brings a wealth of experience as he has been with RMHC for more than 5 years and was previously serving as CFO at our RMHC house in Lubbock. We believe Emmanuel has the vision and leadership qualities that will carry the organization far into the future all while serving our most important mission of keeping families close in their greatest times of need and healing,” said board chairman Ty Jones in a news release.
