LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The City of Lubbock is still vaccinating first responders, but there are no more slots available for at-risk categories or people over 65 until they receive more vaccines from the state.
The phone system for the City of Lubbock was overwhelmed as callers tried to book appointments for those vaccines. Technicians with the city are still working to fix this issue.
The system outage comes the same day the city opened its vaccine clinic inside the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Exhibit Hall for more health care workers, first responders and those who are more at-risk to contract COVID.
