Lubbock Police Still Searching for Man Who Shot At An Officer Get our free mobile app The search for a Lubbock man that is said to have shot at an officer during a chase continues. At around 5:50 a.m. on January 18th, Lubbock Police were called in reference to a vehicle burglary that was happening in the 4700 block of 45th Street. When an officer arrived on scene, he located the suspect vehicle attempted to perform a traffic stop. Garcia failed to pull over, and a short pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, police say that 20-year-old Joshua Tyler Garcia, who was the front passenger in the vehicle, opened fire on the officer. The officer s vehicle was struck and disabled, but the officer wasn t injured. Video posted to LPD s Facebook page shows what s presumed to be Garcia leaning out of the suspect vehicle and firing multiple shots at the pursuing officer.
