Authorities in Lumpkin County said this week that they arrested four people and seized 295 grams of meth, as well as some heroin, in a drug bust. The Lumpkin County Sheriff s Office said the drugs were seized from a home on Lewis School Rd., and that the four people arrested were facing a range of drug trafficking, intent to distribute, and possession charges. The four people arrested were identified as a 34-year-old woman of Dahlonega, a 59-year-old woman of Dahlonega, a 40-year-old man of Oakwood, and a 26-year-old man of Braselton.

Updated: 9:55 PM EDT April 9, 2021 Authorities have made an arrest in the death of a 24-year-old north Georgia woman. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released a statement on Friday announcing that they had arrested a 46-year-old man from Dahlonega for the death of 24-year-old Cheyenne Jean Burns, who was from the same city. The suspect is one of multiple, but the only one facing a felony murder charge in the case. He is also facing charges of aggravated assault and homicide by vehicle. A 19-year-old from Dahlonega was also arrested for reckless conduct and warrants have been issued for two others on the same charge as well as others outstanding.

Man arrested for vehicular homicide in Lumpkin County on Easter Sunday By FOX 5 Atlanta Digital Team Published  (Lumpkin County Sheriff s Office) DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Law enforcement officials have made an arrest in a deadly Easter Sunday incident in Lumpkin County. Jeffrey Wayne Burns, 46, of Dahlonega, was booked into the Lumpkin County Detention Center on Wednesday and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and homicide by vehicle. Investigators said he was wanted in connection to the death of Cheynne Jean Burns, 24, also of Dahlonega. It happened April 3 along Clayton Burns Road. Investigator said an argument between the two led to a vehicular confrontation and the death of Cheynne Burns. Details surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
