She passed peacefully into Heaven on December 30, 2020 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ruth Gallegos Archuleta, Chris Gallegos, Teresa Redwine, and Louise Brustle, Brothers in-law Larry Blanchard and Jim Redwine. She is survived by daughters Cynthia Claiborne (Tony) of Seattle, WA, Sharla Hernandez (Minerva) of Santa Fe, NM, Morene Wagner (Randy) of Roswell, NM. Five grandchildren; Christopher Claiborne (Jiayi), Michael Claiborne, Lauren Davis (Jordan), Nikki Wagner, and Joshua Wagner; Sister Jo Blanchard; Brother and Sister in-law Carlos and Pauline Hernandez and Sister in-law Irene Gallegos as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The hospital utilization report released Monday that covers Dec. 25 to Dec. 31 indicated that the number of adults with confirmed COVID cases hospitalized at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and Lovelace Regional Hospital dropped by 33 to a total of 147. Eastern had 115 COVID patients in adult inpatient beds, while Lovelace had 32. Meanwhile, the number of adult COVID patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds decreased by 25 compared to the previous week, to a total of 54. Eastern New Mexico Medical Center had 41 COVID ICU patients, while Lovelace had 13.

The weekly update of local hospital bed usage shows another decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations. The total of adult beds used by COVID-19 patients at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and Lovelace Regional Hospital dropped by 21 to 180 for the seven-day period of Dec. 18 to Dec. 24 compared to the previous seven-day period. Meanwhile, intensive care unit (ICU) beds occupied by COVID-19 patients at the two facilities during that reporting period went down by 5 to a total of 79, according to data released Monday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Those numbers meant that about 36.5% of all adult in-patients beds available in the two hospitals were occupied by COVID-19 patients. ENMMC had 138 adult beds used by confirmed COVID-19 patients during the seven-day period, while Lovelace had 42. In-patient adult beds available at the two locations totaled 493, according to the federal report.

Combined, Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and Lovelace Regional Hospital had about 28% of adult beds and 80% of staffed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds occupied by confirmed COVID-19 patients during the most recent reporting period, the weekly report updated on Monday shows.
