The Lafayette Science Museum, which has been closed since May, is planning to reopen April 10, the museum announced on Facebook on Tuesday.
The museum s closure, brought on by COVID-19 restrictions, was lamented by Lafayette residents, though the museum remained active through virtual content. Beginning April 10, the museum will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. We have missed our friends within the science community, and look forward to seeing you all once reopened, the museum posted on Facebook.
The museum was also one of many government-funded bodies on the chopping block during the summer of 2020, as Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory sought to cut the budgets of facilities like the Heymann Performing Arts Center, four northside recreation centers and the science museum.
