Broussard Sworn In As Lafayette Administrative Law Judge

Travis Broussard’s name may be familiar to some Acadiana residents. The Opelousas native is an attorney and a former candidate for elected office.
Now, the city of Lafayette will get to know him as its latest judge.
The 11-year veteran of the legal profession says he’s ready to get to work.
“It means another opportunity to serve the citizens of Lafayette, Broussard said. I’m very passionate about service. I love my community. This is just another way to demonstrate I love my community.”

Carlson Discusses Lafayette Libraries, Possible Deconsolidation

District 3 Lafayette Parish Councilman Josh Carlson was on Acadiana Morning News to discuss several major issues facing LCG. Among them, he discussed the city council s Protect the City Committee and the parish council s response to it ( We are trying to react and pivot and add to the conversation after the fact. I wish we would have been included from the beginning. We want to be part of the conversation. ). He also discussed the controversy surrounding the library board and the recent appointment of Robert Judge to the board ( I stand behind every person I supported and voted for to be on the library board. I think they are the best people and most qualified and have the right idea of how we change course and make sure the library is in a better position 10 years from now than it is today. )

Acadiana s Morning News, Cook says council members are working with the Guillory Administration and One Acadiana to create an online directory that shows what businesses are abiding by the state s mask mandate and which ones aren t. Cooks says she should have more details about this directory by the time the next city council meeting takes place on March 9.
Cook also discussed why she changed her mind about supporting a mask mandate for the City of Lafayette, what she expects and hopes to see from the Protect the City Committee, and why it s important for local youth to be take an interest in government.
