The awards, which are done by Comparably, a platform that allows employees to anonymously rate their employers, ranked LHC Group No. 7 on its Best Companies for Women list and No. 27 on the Best Culture list for companies with more than 500 employees.

Lafayette Consolidated Government s (LCG) Thomas Park and Dupuis Recreation Centers have expanded their operating hours and are now open for morning activities. This is the first time morning recreation is available to citizens. Both centers are open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-noon.
Recreation centers are regularly open in the afternoon and evening from 3 p.m.-9 p.m., but Recreation Centers Manager Royal Hill said additional morning hours strengthen the benefits of LCG s Parks and Recreation programs. It s a quality of life service we re offering that didn t exist before and builds on our mission to enrich the lives of citizens through entertainment, relaxation, and physical activities, which improves both physical and mental health.

With select pharmacies now vaccinating a larger group of eligible Louisiana residents for the COVID-19 vaccine, Ochsner Lafayette General says they are ready and motivated to do the same.
On Wednesday, the health system released information about their vaccine roll out, saying that they would reach out to patients to begin scheduling. Those invitations were sent out via email, phone calls and text alerts to eligible patients, 70 year of age or older, who had been to an established Ochsner facility within the last 90 days.

LAFAYETTE, La. â In their first meeting of 2021, the Lafayette City Council heard an update on a contract signed by Mayor-President Josh Guillory with a local company to install cameras to watch citizens and record their activities.
The contract was signed in November without the consent of the council between the Lafayette Consolidated Government and a private company called Crime Fighters of Louisiana.
The contract would allow the company to install surveillance cameras across the city giving free access to law enforcement, particularly the Lafayette Police.
Olympian Hollis Conway Eyed for LCG Head of Parks & Rec
If you re talking about a service of local government that allows citizens the chance to run, jump, play, and have fun then considering a former Olympic athlete might not be such a bad idea. According to multiple reports, Hollis Conway, a silver and bronze medalist in the Olympic High Jump is being considered for the top job at Lafayette Consolidated Government s Park and Recreation Department.
Conway currently serves LCG as Director of Community Development. However, there appears to be some momentum that could move the former U.L. Track star into the top job at Parks and Rec. But before that can happen, apparently LCG needs to get a few more ducks, not the Girard Park ones, more like logistical ducks in a row.
