Suspect Caught as Drive by Shooting in Lafayette Leaves 2 Injured

25-year-old Justin Martin of Lafayette has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of three people who were walking from Moss Street to their home in Lafayette. According to a press release from Lafayette Police, two of the three people were injured as Martin allegedly shot at them while driving by in a black sedan around 11:00 Tuesday night in the 200 block of Doc Duhon Street. Lafayette Mother & Scott Daughter Charged in Death of Boyfriend

Two people have been arrested and Scott Police are looking for another person after a man from Scott died last week. In a press release, Scott Police say 40-year-old Michael Hebert s family became suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his death. Hebert died at a local hospital after suffering a stroke, but it was what led up to that death that led to the arrests of Hebert s girlfriend and her mother. HOW IT BEGAN Investigators say Hebert was living with his girlfriend - 50-year-old Stacy Barton of Scott - when he began to feel ill about 5-6 days before he died. Authorities say Barton asked  her mother - 75-year-old Elizabeth Hornbuckle of Lafayette - to come to her home and to help her. It was over those next few days that Hebert s health deteriorated and he became comatose and unresponsive.

Police say the family of 40-year-old Michael Hebert reported to SPD that the circumstances surrounding his death seemed suspicious. During the investigation, officers learned that Hebert was living with his girlfriend, 50-year-old Stacy Barton of Scott, when he began to feel ill 5-6 days before he died. Barton contacted her mother, 75-year-old Elizabeth Hornbuckle, and 54-year-old Kelly Keeling, both of Lafayette, to come to their residence to assist her, police say. Over the next few days, Hebert s health deteriorated until he became comatose and unresponsive. A neighbor went to the residence, saw Hebert s condition, and called 911.
