Police need help identifying suspect in Lafayette motel incident

LAFAYETTE, LA â The Lafayette Police Department is asking for the public s help to identify the suspect caught on surveillance, following an incident at a Lafayette motel.
Police say, on Dec. 15, there was a fight between two victims and an unknown male suspect at the Discovery Inn on Kaliste Saloom Road. One victim reportedly asked the suspect to leave since he wasn t a guest. The suspect allegedly refused, and slapped the phone out of the victim s hand when he began to call 911.
According to police, the second victim started to record the incident, and then the suspect retrieved a handgun and threatened to blast both victims. He drove away in a tan or gold Honda Accord.
