LG restoration: Transition bodies told to devise action plan after Eid - Newspaper

LAHORE: The government has directed the tehsil and district transition committees across the province to hold their meetings soon after Eid holidays on July 23 to devise an action plan for restoration of the local institutions in line with apex court’s March 25 short order and the July 6 detailed judgment. “It is to inform you that as per directions of the Lahore High Court, coordinators of the tehsil and district transition committees are required to hold the first meeting on July 23, soon after Eid to devise the action plan for early implementation of directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan,” reads a letter sent by the local government and community development department to all assistant and deputy commissioners on Tuesday.

Cabinet panel approves giving part of Chashma Canal to Punjab July 3, 2021 LAHORE: The 66th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business was held at Civil Secretariat and it approved many proposals. Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat chaired the meeting while it was attended by the Senior Member Board of Revenue, irrigation secretary, I&C secretary and other officers concerned. The meeting considered legal amendments and drafts proposed by various departments. The meeting approved the proposals and legal amendments, including proposal to hand over lower part of Chashma Right Bank Canal from Wapda to Punjab in the light of the decision of Common Interest Council. It also approved an agreement between the Board of Revenue Punjab and NADRA for online verification of data for issuance of computerized national identity cards, a consultancy agreement with the World Bank to deal with natural disasters and climate change.
