Sanwo-Olu who spoke last week at the Nutrition Policy Dialogue and Revalidation of State-Specific Nutrition Policy and Strategic Plan of Action said the approval and implantation of the policy would ensure equal access to food and nutrition that would eventually translate to high quality of life and socio-economic development.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya gave the assurance in Lagos on Tuesday, while declaring open a 5-Day Training Programme for Extension Agents in the state in collaboration with the Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority, LSADA, and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Olusanya described the training of the extension agents as a boost for the food security initiative of the State Government, adding that extension officers as teachers of farmers needed to be prioritized and motivated more.

He said that most of the 2020 Batch ‘A’ corp members behaved well. The coordinator, who described the batch as ‘Pandemic Batch’, praised the batch for resilience. According to him, corp members in the batch spent only 11 days in camp and were ordered home by NYSC, following COVID-19 pandemic. ”In spite of that, most of them showed resilience,” he said. “ This 2020 Batch ‘A’ corp members are very unique, they really distinguished themselves individually and as a set. I am highly impressed with their general performance. ”Even when the nation shut down because of coronavirus and we directed them to go home and work virtually, most of them were still eager to work.
