The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, (PCN) said it had sealed off 301 premises of pharmacy and patent medicine stores in Abia.
Briefing the press late Thursday, the Registrar, Elijah Mohammed, disclosed that the figure included 14 pharmacy shops and 287 patent medicine shops.
Represented by Stephen Esumobi, Director, Enforcement, Mohammed said their offences included non-registration with the council, sale of “ethical medicines without the supervision of a pharmacist, poor documentation, poor storage conditions and unauthorised sale of substances of abuse, among others.”
