In Lagos, there are traffic laws that govern the behaviour and operation of motorists. Many road users (mainly private or commercial drivers) are not familiar with the State’s traffic laws. A law is a written or understood rule that concerns behaviour. Laws are generally made to curtail the excesses and lapses of man in every society. Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit popularly called ‘Task Force,’ yesterday, impounded 81 motorcycles for plying restricted routes in the state.
The 81 motorcycles were impounded at Jakande Estate, Isolo, for endangering the lives of other road users. The chairman, Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, CSP Shola Jejeloye, who led the operation, stated that the seizure was in line with enforcement of the Lagos State Traffic Law and to halt the flagrant abuse of traffic laws by the motorcyclists.
He noted that government was concerned about the recklessness of motorcyclists on restricted routes, and therefore became necessary to help the motorcyclists by saving their own lives and those of other road users.

In its bid to halt the flagrant abuse of traffic laws by commercial motorcyclists, Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (Task Force) on Tuesday, impounded 81 motorcycles for plying restricted routes in the state.
The motorcycles were impounded at Jakande Estate and Isolo for plying restricted routes and endangering the lives of other road users.

Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit (TaskForce), on Tuesday, impounded a total of 81 motorcycles otherwise called Okada for plying restricted routes and endangering the lives of other road users in the state.
Chairman of the Task Force, CSP Shola Jejeloye, who led the operation in Jakande Estate and Isolo areas of the state, said the seizure was in line with enforcement of the Lagos State Traffic Law and to halt the flagrant abuse of traffic laws by the motorcyclists.
The Task Force boss, in a statement made available to newsmen by the Agency’s spokesperson, Mr Femi Moliki, noted that the state government was concerned about the recklessness of motorcyclists on restricted routes, and, therefore, became imperative to help the motorcyclists by saving their own lives and that of other road users.
