Michael Purcell, 108 McEoin Park, Farnagh, Longford, appeared at last week’s sitting of Longford District Court alongside a young person who was his co-accused.

Four men and a woman charged with criminal damage at a house in Longford town in August have reappeared before Longford District Court where their case was adjourned to February 2.
Micheal Stokes (51), Sarah Stokes (46), Patrick Stokes (24), Francis Stokes (20), all of Corboy, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, and Ronan Stokes (19), 9 Annaly Gardens previously appeared at a special sitting of Longford District Court where they were remanded on bail to last week’s date, subject to a number of bail conditions.
One of those bail conditions was to stay out of Longford town, save for legal or medical reasons and for a family wedding, which took place in November.

Bartlomiej Wrona, 4 Cuasan, Lisbrack Road, Longford, told the court last week that he wasn’t aware that carrying the tool in his wallet was an offence.
Sgt Paddy McGirl, for the state, explained that when Gardaí searched Mr Wrona, they discovered the weapon, which was disguised.

A former Dublin hurler currently serving a prison sentence for robbing over €13,000 from Ardagh Post Office in October last year, has been sentenced to five months concurrent for a number of dangerous driving charges.
Alan Coyne, Ballinaree Cottage, Edgeworthstown, appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes at Longford District Court last Tuesday, charged with dangerous driving after he took the car of a lady within the post office on October 16, 2019.

Gardaí have launched a public appeal after a suspected criminal damage and public order incident in Longford town led to a man being charged with the possession of a knuckleduster.
The 37-year-old was arrested by officers on Tuesday evening after a complaint was made over suspected damage being caused to a house in the Annaly Park area shortly before 8pm.
When gardaí arrived, it s understood damage a downstairs window belonging to a two storey house was found to have been damaged.
