ANTIGO, WI (WSAU) One person is in custody following an early morning incident at Antigo Middle School.
According to a release from the Antigo Police Department, officers were called to Antigo Middle School Monday morning at 6:15 along with the Langlade County Sheriff’s Department. Officers were there due to a report of suspicious circumstances and alarms activated at the school.
With the Antigo School custodial staff, officers and deputies searched the building. In the search of the building, they found some damage and noticing some missing items as well.
A suspect was identified by officers, deputies, and school staff. The suspect was found and detained around 7:15 a.m. at a location away from the school grounds. The suspect was then taken into custody.

DEERBROOK, WI (WSAU) â Authorities are turning to the public for help after a Red-tailed hawk was illegally shot in the Northwoods.
The Langlade County Sheriffâs Department says they responded to a report of an injured hawk on Christmas Eve near County Road A and Kramer Road near Deerbrook. The deputy took the injured hawk to the Raptor Education Group, Inc. for treatment. The facility found that the hawk had been illegally shot.
The Langlade County Sheriff’s Office hopes someone knows who shot a red-tailed hawk.
In a Facebook Post, the department says a deputy responded to the report of the injured bird on Christmas Eve, near County Road A and Kramer Road.
The bird was taken to the Raptor Education Group to be treated.
Workers trying to help the bird say it had no outward signs of injury, although he was not standing.
An x-ray showed the hawk had been shot.
Red-tailed hawks are a federally protected species.
