Men Who Died in Explosion Near Starved Rock State Park Identified

The LaSalle County Coroner s Office has released the names of the three men who were killed in an explosion near Starved Rock State Park last Thursday. They have been identified as 39-year-old Immer E. Rivera Tejada, 26-year-old Guillermo E. Rivera Tejada, and 36-year-old Rafael R. Rivera Tajada, all of Chicago. The three are thought to have ignited a black powder substance along the Illinois River near Utica. Authorities haven t said why, but don t suspect any criminal intent. The men s deaths are thought to be accidental. The investigation into the explosion is ongoing.

(Tim Moran/Patch) UTICA, IL The three men who died after authorities said they ignited a black powder near Starved Rock State Park have been identified by the LaSalle County Coroner s Office. The bodies of Immer Rivera Tejada, 39, Guillermo Rivera Tejada, 26, and Rafael Rivera Tejada, 36, were discovered last Thursday night near the old Route 178 bridge, according to LaSalle County Coroner Rich Ploch. While investigators are still looking into the incident, authorities said the explosion appears to have been an accident while the three men were fishing.

The Ottawa Police Department were called before 10 AM to the east end of Allen Park where a deceased male was discovered. The LaSalle County Coroner announced that the deceased was 63-year-old Donald Lee Renz. Yorkville woman identified in LaSalle County crash

  OTTAWA – A 56-year-old woman from Yorkville has been identified in the fatal vehicle accident north of Leonore on Sunday.   According to the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, Kathleen M. Staunton was driving near the intersection of E. 906th Rd. and 1850th Road in Richland Township when the single-vehicle crash occurred. The incident will be further investigated by the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office.
