PERU – A possible abduction occurred in Peru, Illinois Monday morning and authorities are seeking help from the public in locating a possible victim and those involved. Although early in the investigation, Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei stated they are not sure the age of the female that could have been taken, but estimate her age to be anywhere from early teens to late twenties. They also are seeking information on a white SUV, possibly a larger Ford, that was seen near 7th and Plum Street that may have been involved. Officials speculate this may be a domestic situation, but still request if you have any information to call their tip line at (815)223-2151. The investigation is ongoing by the Peru Police Department, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police, and the FBI.

OTTAWA – An Ottawa man is being held at the LaSalle County Jail after an investigation by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team into cocaine sales in the area. On Wednesday afternoon they say the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office took 22-year-old Adrian C. Huynh into custody in the 800 block of West McKinley Road in Ottawa and charged him with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Huynh is being held on a $500,000 bond.

UTICA – A reported explosion that sent emergency crews scrambling to the banks of the Illinois River Thursday evening may have caused devastating injuries or worse to multiple people, but authorities have yet to release specific details. Around 7:20 PM Utica EMS and the Department of Natural Resources were called to an area west of the Starved Rock State Park boat launch for what was described to dispatchers as an explosion. Crews combed the banks into the late hours of the evening with flashlights and portions of the park were closed to the public. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office is expected to put out a full press release later today.
