Penn Township man turns self in, charged with sexually assaulting 11-year-old: police

A Penn Township man turned himself in to police after calling an 11-year-old s father to say that he “molested” the man’s child, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional Police.  Joseph Stephen Ports, 35, was charged with five felonies related to child sexual assault, according to police.   Ports turned himself in by calling Lancaster County-Wide Communications on June 1, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Ports told the operator that he “needed to turn himself in” for assaulting an 11-year-old.   One day earlier, the child’s parents reported Ports to police, telling officers that he had called the 11-year-old s father and said he “molested” the child, but wouldn’t go into detail, according to the affidavit.

Columbia man fondled, assaulted girls he invited for sleepovers: police

A Columbia man has been charged after repeatedly inviting young girls into his home for sleepovers and then assaulting them, according to West Hempfield Township police. Lloyd S. Diener, 70, was charged with four counts of indecent assault, two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and two counts of corruption of minors for the activity authorities say took place between January 2019 and late September 2020, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Investigators first became aware of the allegations in September 2020, following a report by a Lancaster County Children and Youth Service Agency caseworker that Diener had rubbed oil on an 8-year-old girl and fondled her, according to the affidavit.

Ephrata man charged after sexually abusing girl when he was a teenager: police

An Ephrata man was charged for sexually assaulting a young girl approximately 35 times from 2012 to 2014, according to East Earl Township police.  Jacob Paul Newnam, 24, is facing 10 felonies and two misdemeanors for the assaults, according to court documents. Police said that Newnam was 16 and 17 years old when he committed the assaults from August 2012 and through January 2014. Police started investigating in June 2020 after Lancaster County Children and Youth Social Agency referred the girl to East Earl Township police.  The girl told police she was 12 years old when Newnam began the sexual abuse and 13 when it ended, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
