BIRD IN HAND, Pa. A case that has captured the attention of the entire country has also deeply affected the close-knit community of rural Lancaster County.
Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen on June 21, 2020. Exactly 10 months later human remains relating to the case were found, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
The body was found near Dutchland Inc. in Sadsbury Twp., the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

LANCASTER, Pa. A 35-year-old Lancaster woman has been charged with DUI and other offenses stemming from a Feb. 23 head-on crash on the Lititz Pike bridge that killed her 11-year-old son and an unborn baby, according to Manheim Township Police.
Jennifer Johnson was traveling south on Lititz Pike at 8:26 p.m. on the night of the crash when she entered the opposing lane of traffic and struck another vehicle head-on, police say.
Johnson s vehicle had one passenger, her 11-year-old son, according to police. The child was allegedly riding unrestrained in the front seat of Johnson s vehicle at the time of the crash, police say. He later died of injuries sustained in the crash at a local hospital.
The remains of Linda Stoltzfoos, the18-year-old Amish woman who disappeared last June, have been found in a rural area of eastern Lancaster County, prosecutors announced. The discovery comes after an intensive search spanning 10 months. Justo Smoker, 35, was charged in December with kidnapping and killing Stoltzfoos.
The FBI, East Lampeter Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police have discovered human remains in a rural area in the eastern part of Lancaster County.
The search is related to the disappearance of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos, the Amish teen who has been missing since June 21, 2020, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office. The county coroner’s office has been called to the scene.
The site will be processed, and the remains will then be released to the coroner for identification and to determine cause and manner of death, according to a release from the DA’s office.
