Eugene Nippard, chair of the province s Air Ambulance Medical Transport Advocacy group, is calling on government to address inefficiencies in the provincial air ambulance system and station a medevac team in central Newfoundland.

Newfoundland and Labrador added three new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, all in the Eastern Health region, according to the Department of Health.
In a media release Friday afternoon, the Health Department said all three cases two men in their 40s and a woman between 20 and 39 years old are related to travel within Canada.

A Labrador family is calling for systemic change to the province s air ambulance system following an ordeal that left their father on life support, after he waited almost 36 hours for medical transportation.

Meanwhile, clinics for the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine announced this week in the Eastern Health region are now nearly full, the health authority said Thursday.
