An anonymous benefactor has stepped up to help Sarnia potentially create an active transportation route for cyclists, pedestrians and others cutting east-west through the heart of the city.
The benefactor has agreed to help cover costs, city engineering and operations general manager David Jackson said.

“As staff, we had kind of, over the years, been thinking about how we could find a good east-west corridor in the city and hadn’t had much success finding the right location,” he said. “But this person reached out wanting to support the city in improving our active transportation infrastructure, and so we have to give him the credit for proposing this route we’re looking at now.”
