Police pursued the five for two hours from Lashburn, Sask., to an area north near Paradise Hills. The five are charged with theft of a vehicle, storing a prohibited firearm, four counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a firearm without a license, being in a vehicle with an unauthorized firearm, possessing a prohibited firearm with accessible ammunition without registration, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, endangering the safety of the public, and flight from police. Wahpistikwan is scheduled to appear next in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 21 for a show cause hearing. Cantel’s show cause hearing was adjourned to Jan. 11. Lajimodiere is scheduled to appear on Jan. 26 to speak to his matter.

Onion Lake RCMP arrest five people associated with gang

Five people associated with a gang are facing charges following a police chase on New Year’s Day.
Onion Lake RCMP were called to a rural area west of Onion Lake Cree Nation at 2 p.m. on January 1st. A resident in the area reported a black SUV drove into a private yard then quickly drove off and smashed through a fence on the way out.
Officers searched for the vehicle and found it heading north on Highway 17, about 4 km south of Chief Taylor Road junction. They pursued and the vehicle turned east on Chief Taylor Road.
