The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reporting a death as a result of COVID-19.
This is according to the dashboard update on the RCDHU at noon today. No other details about the individual have been released. This is the fifth death in Renfrew County and district attributed to the virus.

The health unit is also reporting eight new positive cases of COVID-19 and three more resolved cases today. As of April 22, there are six people hospitalized, including two people in intensive care, with 26 individuals self-isolating. Two more cases have also screened positive for variants of concern since the April 19 case summary. The 11 cases reported since April 19 are classified as community cases.
