First of St Lawrence County s COVID-19 vaccination centers set up at SUNY Potsdam

Wednesday, January 13, 2021 - 5:36 pm POTSDAM The first of St. Lawrence County’s COVID-19 vaccination centers has been set up in the Fieldhouse at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall. Clinical personnel are anticipating the distribution of the next round of vaccinations on Monday, January 18. St. Lawrence Health System is collaborating with SUNY Potsdam, New York State, and St. Lawrence County Board of Health in the initiative to get county residents vaccinated against COVID-19. Along with the Potsdam location, SLHS is working to establish clinics in Gouverneur and Massena. The county is also working to help get two more set up in Ogdensburg and Star Lake.

Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 9:24 am BY ANDY GARDNER North Country This Week CANTON With Christmas and New Year’s Eve just days away, St. Lawrence County’s Board of Health president says people should celebrate, but with caution and abiding by public health measures aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Andrew Williams spoke with the St. Lawrence County legislature’s Finance Committee during their Monday, Dec. 21 meeting. He showed the board a slide that said a majority of COVID-19 infections are traced back to household and social gatherings. “I could also put a slide up about how social isolation is bad for someone’s health,” the doctor said. “People need to do the holidays. We just need to do them safely.”
