NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA A body was found underneath the 101 freeway in North Hollywood Tuesday morning. The body was found near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Oxnard Street around 11 a.m. according to California Highway Patrol.
A coroner was sent to the location and an investigation was underway. Details about the person s age, gender or identity weren t immediately available.

Tiny home village being built in North Hollywood to serve as lifeline for the homeless

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) A solution to shelter the homeless is being constructed with urgency in North Hollywood. It s a crisis of human rights, it s a crisis of public health, says Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian.
Krekorian represents the city s 2nd district, where the village of tiny homes is being built off Laurel Canyon Boulevard and the 170 Freeway. It s a site that s surrounded by homeless encampments and shuttered businesses.
The shelter project is a partnership with Pallet Shelters and the L.A. Conservation Corps. Corpsmembers are helping to build 425 new shelters across the city of Los Angeles. The North Hollywood site includes 103 shelters.
The 1970s turned 50 in 2020. The Los Angeles Conservancy, whose mission is to preserve the historic places that make L.A. County unique, is celebrating with “Rolling Through the ‘70s: A Weekend in Los Angeles.” The educational initiative features three self-driving architectural tours showcasing buildings, cultural sites and landmarks from the pivotal decade. Of the 32 places included, here are nine to whet your appetite. Turn on your GPS, link to the L.A. Conservancy’s collection of ‘70s sound bites and songs and enjoy the ride. The view of downtown L.A. from the 110 Freeway is impressive but it didn’t exist before 1956 because of building height restrictions.
